Our Approach to Youth Sports
At the Y, our sports staff, coaches and volunteers all share a singular vision of helping all youth reach their full potential in life. We leverage the excitement and passion around recreational and competitive programming to create a healthy outlet for children to gain new skills, develop a sense of team and connect with positive role models.
Y Youth Sports Pledge
I pledge to play the game, the best I can, to be a team player, to respect my opponents, the rules and officials, and improve myself, in spirit, mind and body.
Our Y Sports Programs emphasize sportsmanship, fair play and teamwork; emphasize the values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility; keep winning in perspective; enable all participates to play in every game; include family involvement; include coaches and officials training; emphasize skill development; emphasize using volunteers as coaches and officials; and are open to all segments of the community.

Have fun and stay active at the same time! Children 3 – 14 years old are welcome to participate in our Winter Youth Co-Ed Basketball Program.
Youth participating in basketball activities can be a great form of exercise that also helps form team-building skills and a sense of community.We offer outstanding opportunities for the entire family to be involved; learning new skills, making new friends and beginning a lifetime of physical activity that promotes health and well-being. Parents are encouraged to volunteer as coaches or in many other roles under the guidance of Y staff.
From ages 3 to 14, kids love the Y basketball program. Our Co-Ed program allows young players to enjoy basketball in a positive and fun environment, while incorporating the values of the YMCA. Practices are 1 night a week (Mon-Fri), once a week. Games are on Saturdays.
Fee: $40 Members/$80 Non-Members
50% off additional child discount – children must be in the same membership unit residing at the same address – no discounts online.
Session Dates: Practices will begin the week of January 13th. 2020. 1st Game will be Saturday, January 25th, 2020. Last Game will be Saturday, February 29th
Times: Practices are once a week and Games are on Saturdays. Practice times/days are not ready until registration is completed.
Jersey Fee: $10
(You may reuse from a previous Youth Sports Program and with purchase you can use for any upcoming Youth Sports Programs)
