April is Stress Awareness Month!

Stress is a natural part of life, but there are ways to deal with it in healthy ways. Make a plan to reduce the stress in your life.

Some helpful techniques that can assist you in managing your daily stress:

Meditation – is helpful to the brain’s neural pathways, making you more resilient to stress

Breathing Deeply – triggers our parasympathetic nervous system, neutralizes stress and elicits a calming feeling

Exercise – all forms of exercise can ease depression and anxiety by helping the brain releasing feel-good chemicals giving your body a chance to practice dealing with stress

Eating Healthy – choosing a diet rich in vegetables, fruits, and fiber may reduce the chance that stress can boost the body’s natural defense system

Join us for Meditation Monday evening 6:45-7:30 P.M. in the Aerobic Room and for Yoga Wednesday 10:45-11:45 A.M. in the Aerobic Room

POPCORN!

GLOBAL FOR GOOD

ALL Month Long Our Popcorn Sales will benefit the YMCA World Service Campaign

Opportunity Beyond Borders: YMCA World Service Campaign

Did you know that the Y is in 119 countries? Like Ys in the U.S., Ys around the globe respond to community need with programs and services that help people to reach their full potential.

YMCA of the USA's World Service Campaign raises support for the powerful work of Ys worldwide, which often operate in challenging environments. Your support empowers these Ys to help more people overcome barriers such as poverty, illiteracy, or chronic disease, by providing them with access to the building blocks of self-determination: social inclusion, quality education and health services, safe spaces for personal growth and leadership development, and employment and livelihood support.

Everyone deserves the opportunity to discover what they can achieve. When you give to World Service, you help YMCAs reduce barriers and provide opportunities for more individuals, children and families to thrive. To learn more, download the campaign brochure Opens a new window or email worldservice@ymca.net.
